Words: Header Tags

A header, or H tag or heading, is a precise phrase that tells search engines what that particular section of content is about.

Every page should have 1 (and only one) H1 tag. This is the most important thing you can have on a page. It tells search engines what that page is about. Having more than one H1 will confuse search engines. This should be or contain your keyphrase.

If you need to break up text, use a H2 or H3 tags to describe what is in that section.

The numbers represent ‘priority’ to a search engine. Make sure you’re marking your headings correctly.
